We are Scary Skeletons

We are Scary Skeletons is from Game Plan Kindergarten Book or Highlights for the Holidays

There’s a Spider on the Floor

This song is originally by Raffi and I love this version and book you can read along with acting out the story with plastic spiders!

I also enjoy this version! There are few more actions to do with your spider.

Trolls Rhythm Stick Play Along

My Kindergarteners and 1st Graders absolutely love this listening map.

This rhythm stick play along is perfect for 2nd and 3rd grade. Especially with the added challenge of playing the eighth notes on the ground and the quarter notes by tapping their rhythm sticks together.

Candy Sort

Candy sort is a classic. Print out as many fun candies as you would like or search for some already made ones and let your students sort them into trick or treat buckets or bags with the correct rhythm.

Unfortunately I don’t think this lesson is available anymore, but would could be used for inspiration.

Music Symbols Jack-O-Lanterns

This activity could become a lovely bulletin board. Challenge your students to draw a jack-o-lantern face but only using music symbols. I really like this freebie from Music Plus Coffee for this!

Not So Spooky Haunted House

Review and practice Kindergarten music concepts while visiting the not-so-spooky haunted house! Students will feel the magic of the season moving, dancing, singing, playing, and listening to spooky music. Students will pick places to visit on the haunted house property. Each activity takes 5 – 20 minutes. This virtual field trip could be done in one 50 minute lesson or broken up into mini lessons over a few class periods. Check out the resource here!

Gummy Bear Play Along

This play-along is a part of my other virtual field trip to a candy factory that is perfect for this time of year! My third graders had a blast playing instruments to this fun song!
